I drank the cup of emptiness
I plunged into the abyss of nothingness
A journey through the deepest darkness
In crowded rooms full of faces,
The weary soul is filled with loneliness
Grasping for that drifting happiness
I face the day struggling inside
In deep silence, vehement cries I confide
Drowning in dark fears I try to hide
Emotions betray thoughts confined
Agonizing battle between heart and mind
Triumph and defeat have been defined
The restless mind goes on and on
Dreaming, thinking, wishing, seeking the unknown
Hoping to have a strength of its own
I gaze unto the horizon
And found the most brilliant light I've ever known
To take hold of it would bring me home... .
